Heathrow Meet and Greet Taxi โ€“ Driver Waiting in Arrivals

After a long flight, the last thing you want is to hunt for a taxi rank or call a driver from the kerb. With Heathrow Airport Cabs’ meet and greet service, your driver is waiting for you in the arrivals hall with your name on a board, ready to help with luggage and walk you straight to the car.

How meet and greet works at Heathrow

  1. Book online or by phone and give us your flight number.
  2. We track the flight in real time and adjust the pickup if it lands early or late.
  3. Your driver parks in the terminal’s short-stay car park and waits at the arrivals meeting point with a name board.
  4. Once you have your bags, the driver helps you to the car โ€“ usually a short walk.

Where your driver waits at each terminal

Terminal 2: the arrivals hall on the ground floor, by the meeting point. Terminal 3: the arrivals hall, ground floor. Terminal 4: the arrivals hall, ground floor. Terminal 5: the arrivals hall in 5A on the ground floor. We send the driver’s name and phone number before you land so you can call if you cannot see them.

Waiting time and delays

Because we monitor your flight, you never pay extra because the plane was late. Your driver allows time for passport control and baggage reclaim, which can take a while after long-haul arrivals. If you are delayed inside the terminal โ€“ a lost bag, for example โ€“ just call or message the driver.

Meet and greet vs kerbside pickup

Kerbside pickups are no longer allowed on Heathrow’s forecourts, so every pre-booked car uses the short-stay car parks or the official pickup areas. Meet and greet simply means your driver comes inside to find you, which is ideal for first-time visitors, families with children, older travellers and anyone with a lot of luggage. Short-stay parking charges apply and are shown in your quote.

Who books meet and greet?

Business travellers who want to walk straight out to a waiting car, families arriving with young children, visitors to London who do not know the airport, and friends or relatives booking a pickup for someone else. We can put any name on the board โ€“ ideal for collecting a colleague or guest.

Driving and parking at Heathrow vs a taxi

Driving yourself means paying for fuel, the terminal drop-off charge or airport parking, and allowing time for the long-stay shuttle bus. Short-stay car parks are convenient but priced by the hour, and long-stay parking needs booking in advance to get a reasonable rate. Inside London, older cars may also face ULEZ charges. With a pre-booked taxi there is one fixed price, no parking to organise and nothing to collect when you land โ€“ your driver drops you at the departures door and, on the way back, meets you inside the terminal.

Children, extra stops and special assistance

Travelling with young children? Tell us their ages when booking so we can discuss suitable child seats. You can add extra stops โ€“ to collect a relative or pick up a colleague on the way โ€“ when you book. If you need help at the airport, Heathrow’s free special assistance service can be booked through your airline; our drivers will take you to the assistance point at your terminal and help with your bags.
